Neville Koopowitz - United Kingdom

Neville Koopowitz is a leading South African businessman who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of PruHealth, a UK-based insurance joint venture between Prudential plc and Discovery Holdings Ltd of South Africa.

PruHealth commands a more than 10% share of the private medical insurance market in the UK, covering almost 600,000 people. Prior to joining PruHealth, Neville played a fundamental role in the establishment of Discovery Holdings Ltd, a multinational financial services organisation with operations in 4 countries, and revenues in excess of £4.5bn.

As one of its original founding employees, Neville occupied multiple Executive level positions at Discovery, including the roles of Chief Marketing Office, Managing Director of Vitality (Discovery’s globally-recognised, incentive-based wellness program), and Chief Executive Officer of Discovery Health.

Most recently, under Neville’s stewardship, Discovery Health developed into the largest private medical funder in South Africa, commanding a 50% market share, covering over 2.5 million clients, and employing over 3,000 people. Neville remains an Executive Director of Discovery Holdings.

Neville’s commitment to social development and health improvement through physical activity is demonstrated through his work with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and the Sports Science Institute of South Africa.
